But I don't choose what I listen to- most of my music comes from music channels or radio. I don't download much, I don't play my iTunes much etc, heck I don't even own an iPod, so to me its a pointless exercise because to me music isn't an art that I define my life by, its just something to pass a small amount of time with.

I used to bother when I was 16/17/18 and still listen to a lot of that music if I do decide to play my own, but generally these days what I listen to is heavily promoted. Times change, and that interest faded for me. Although the irony is a lot of those bands have now had small mainstream success (Pigeon Detectives etc)

Tinchy Strider is a rapper, correct? I don't think rappers try to sing or pretend they have a good voice. I'd say it's still vocal talent though. It's just different. Can you rap?
