Yes, as some way to distinguish yourself from others within the forum and claim a higher status in here, nothing more. Some people view it as a kind of bragging right and believe that they are more apart of the place than others with lower counts, which is a load of cack as far as I'm concerned.
It literally means nothing, especially when you were typing comments like jjadddkgggggh and weoiuglakdjfadfdasdfa etc. to up your count tally.
