Thats what i was thinking, it's usually at midnight we first see the eye.

Yeah, and the day, believe it or not, starts at 12 midnight.

So if an eye is embargoed until, say, the 20th, it will be released when the 20th comes.

Which is ...

... can you guess?

Not really. I mean you can, but you are just splitting hairs. Endemol almost never embargo something until, say, 2 in the afternoon because then none of the papers can print the news item that day.
