I'm not sure they will be demolishing the house anytime soon, it is after all still a studio that can be used again in Elstree but yeah I suppose everything has to end some day so when it does get knocked down in years to come, it'll be very very sad.
But hopefully we will have a new house.

I think part of the planning permission when it was built, stated that it was to be demolished before Sept 30th.

So it was always going to be demolished this September regardless of whether they signed another contract or not?

And in that case, theoretically if there was a BB12 we'd have a new site?

That's my understanding yes.

I believe someone posted a copy of the planning permission before, I think that is where it was stated. Possibly DigitalSid that posted it but I've had a quick look and can't find it again.

The site is supposed to revert back to what it was pre-BB3. It was only built as a set for BB.

Oh I see, thanks! 4

The decline in popularity and cancellation of the show coincided just right then with the scheduled demolition...how odd.

Do you know why they chose this year to demolish it?

Don't know. Wasn't the Endemol/Channel 4 contract only up until the end of this year anyway?

Could still be a push to get it down, and back exactly the way it was by Sep 30th if the final show this year is Sep 10th. Doesn't give them long

I'm really only repeating stuff I've read on the boards about it

Yeah, but that latest contract was signed at the end of BB7 wasn't it? Surely the site planning permission was signed back in 2002 ?

Yeah, they've not got long really.

I'm sure it was rebuilt a few years ago, that's why it's bigger than it used to be.
