It's kinda like a cultural thing, Manchester has changed a lot in 50 years, but the one thing that has been there throughout is the Granada sign/building

Iconic landmark for those of us up here

ITV region has always been much more popular than the BBC region up here and Granada has been the main ITV 'base' up here too producing some of their most successful shows and its one of the only places to do so north of London. Its kind of a cultural thing
