But why do you think they've chosen to show them over John? Cher is something we've never had on X Factor before and Katie is...well...different, that's a fact. Quirky is the word I'm looking for. A marmite character. Both are entertaining though - and that's why people tune in. To be entertained. Had they shown acts like John no one would be watching.

Yes. Cher definitely, she has enough support already. TreyC if she turns into Alexandra II.

I can't even remember his Audition and Bootcamp, that's how dull he is. Infact, did they even show his Audition on the main show?
As for the 'messing up the words' thing, that's what's tiring.
Cher - 1/4 [that we've seen]...and you could excuse the one performance because she was ill. Can't help that.
Katie - 2/5 [that we've seen]. Give her a few weeks and that'll be 2/10.

But they got together as a forum campaign to go against the producer's 'favourite'. They knew they didn't want her to win, so they made her win.
Pete, Brian, Brian, Josie were all nice people - but they all did something. It's not like all the winners were dull like Rachel.
And you can, really, because both have positive voting at some point in the series [BB Final week, XF throughout].
