Come on Lee - Bob and young Ian drink there and you have poetry and book readings..........try doing that elsewhere in Fife without getting glassed!!!!

Bob could buy and sell us both without even breaking sweat or wanting the change back!

I'm blaming it all on Kerry - she started on Wham Bars Lee - made me think of the Tropicana in Kirkcaldy circa 1985

A wee bit before my time, but I do remember seeing it as I used to go to Kirkcaldy a lot with my mum. Was it in the building that became Cleos? (not sure of name) sort of behind Jackie Os?

I don't actually remember the first time we had central heating but I do remember living in a house that didn't have it!! My mum used to put the gas fire on in the morning and put a big basin of hot water in front of it for us to get washed in, then she'd heat every individual item of clothing at the fire before we put them on, cup of hot Ribena, then out to school!

I still heat all my clothes before I put them on! ahahaha

also I remember when telephones looked like this :

It used to take forever to dial a number and I remember getting really annoyed when I'd make a mistake and have to start over again :/

my friends mom had a lock on hers to stop my friend running up the phone bill but we figured out how to tap the phone, by hitting the hang up button really quick (5 times for 5, 6 times for 6 etc.)

Evil woman Niamh! I was reading the 'call emergency' thread on the site. 999 would take forever on these phones and that's why the clever Americans invented 112 I think!

I still have a 1930s bakolite phone in black and one in green - their rings are really nice!

It wasn't but it was close to it - only about 100m away.

Jackie Os - hahahaha now you're showing your age! I could tell you of Chevy's in Dumfi !!!!!!! All the police used to drink there and as my ex's sister was a policewoman and her partner a policeman, no queuing, in for free and free drinks!

Ah right.. perhaps.

Anyone remember frantically pushing the play and record button together at the end of every song on Sundays Top 40 so you wouldn't get the djs voice on your "mix tape" hahaha

I'm not good at remembering the names of Dumfi streets - a bit down the hill from the Burgh Chambers- not on the High Street - the other way

And yes you are correct about the palm tree sign
