Actress and Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has lost the baby boy she was expecting, her agent has said.

The TV star was seven months pregnant when she suffered a miscarriage on Tuesday.

She went to West Middlesex Hospital in Isleworth, west London, after the baby stopped moving. It was later stillborn.

Holden and her husband Chris Hughes are said to be "utterly devestated" at the loss.

The 39-year-old also lost a baby last year.

The actress only announced the most recent pregnancy in January when she was six months pregnant. The couple have a five-year-old daughter Lexi.

The couple's spokeswoman Alison Griffin said: "They are utterly devastated.

"Amanda had been closely monitored throughout her pregnancy and it is not yet known what went wrong.

"Both Chris and Amanda would like to thank the midwives and staff at The Queen Mary Maternity unit at West Middlesex Hospital Isleworth for their tremendous support."

Yep this, they finished filiming the auditions only last week I think.

She'll need to grieve. A miscarriage is bad enough but this baby was stillborn at 7 months, just 8 weeks shy of his birth. She'll have given birth to a dead baby and held him

It's not really something to speculate on and I know these things do just happen but she was only recently scanned and her baby was easily at a viable stage to deliver at 7 months

Poor Amanda and poor Chris. Tragic on so many levels - after her last miscarriage, and now, being so close to her due date - at 7mths on and thinking 'all would be well', there's every chance they perhaps had prepared nursery, bought clothes, toys, etc. So so sad.

I know you're a young teen Patrick and not exactly aware of the full impact of effect of a miscarriage, but FFS, it's been a while since I read such an insensitive post or one full of utter ignorance. Think back to when your nephew was ill and you thought he might die ..... if anyone said, "hey, his parents should try again... " you'd have had a meltdown. There are people on this very forum who may have suffered a miscarriage - and you put up this insensitive, completely blasé throwaway comment. Sometimes in life, if you don't understand the situation, it's better to not comment at all.

If you mean the baby could have been delivered (alive) - it seems that wasn't an option. According to some reports, she noticed a lack of movement - and that's when it was discovered the baby had died. I understand what 'you're getting at' though - and that is even harder - if she'd gone into labour at that point with the baby still alive, there's every chance it would have survived.

Truly awful experience for any parent-to-be to have to go through.

Such a shame, considering she kept her baby secret until it was safe to announce it. Going to be awful if they air scenes in BGT where you can see her bump or she mentions it, hopefully they cut any of that out.

Horrible situation eh. what to do - if they remove any traces of her pregnancy, I'm sure any mum to be would find that as hurtful too, as though denying the baby existed - it's one of life's horribly awkward and difficult ones to figure what might be for the best..... either way, it's going to be a 'sore one' for her.
