I know. But I said its very possible. At least her music will actually get some attention and huge exposure. Fight for this love could be re-released there and thats a proven smash.

XF is different to other talent shows as it has different categories. It will get a huge initial audience just out of curiosity. But maybe there is just too many of these shows on us tv now. Especially with another one coming...The voice(with Aguilera).

I think the Spice Girls were a shorter, but sweeter success overall. They couldn't sing for toffee, but had so much more personality than Girls Aloud (who are not exactly singing virtuosos themselves) and catchier songs.

Well I think American Idol's dying a slow death seeing as Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell have both left it (I think?! I honestly haven't watched it since its 2nd series, save for seeing an episode on TV not that long ago and not recognising the judging panel) so a new program with Simon Cowell attached to it is going to generate a lot of interest seeing as he was the main draw of American Idol. I don't think the X Factor will set the USA alight with interest though, I think the era of reality TV music stars is going to disappear for a while in the future.

They should try without Cheryl, probably wont sell as much but could still have a succesful album.

American Idol is more popular this year in America than it was last year. Simon is popular in America but he doesn't have the same presence over there as he does here, but he's good at fooling us into believing he does.

Americans have a very different media market to ours.

I think that would just flop; IMO they couldn't work as anything but a five piece with all of the same members; they were formed that way by the public on a reality TV show, anything different to that formula and they'd lose a lot of support regardless of the reasons behind it. I think it's Nadine who's preventing a reunion from happening, going by the media.

the ratings have declined from last year. But they were progressively declining year on year so its hard to say how much the new judges have impacted. Theyre certainly popular with the fans.

a 7% decline from last year is bad but its not as bad as expected. Could get worse though.

True. If he'd given the Americans last year XF, shot for shot, frame for frame, episode for episode the same, he'd have never have got away with it. He'd have lost a huge amount of credibility.

As for GA, they're the last remaining band from the global Popstars franchise so its about time they were put out to pasture,

If the music is good it will sell either way. Nicola and Kimberly's popularity has risen quite a bit and the focus was no longer just on Cheryl anyway. And if its Nadine, she flopped hard as a solo so maybe losing her wouldnt affect the group all that much, perhaps and introduction to a new member but they have to be careful they dont do a Sugababes.

Admittingly Id like GA back as the original 5-piece, but if thats not gonna happen the remaining girls should get a stab at it - might ruin their rep or it could relight their flame. Nobody's know until they actually go ahead with it.

I don't like the idea of GA without Cheryl. Be like theyve lost their main star. Vocally they'd be fine but they wouldnt get the same media attention.

All Saints attempted a comeback with some good music and that didn't take off, plenty of girl groups have gone off the boil, attempted a comeback and it's ruined them - same will happen to Girls Aloud if they try anything other than the original five, and they'd need to do it very well to pull it off. I think they're dead :/

I think they might return to celebrate their 10 anniv. But not to return as a fully working band again - album after album.
