Quite a few do in Corrie, off the top of my head; Becky, Steve (those two might have given up or something though, there was a story about it) Liz, Peter, Deidre, Lloyd, maybe Eddie as well. Might be more, they dont seem to show them as much as they used to though

Get it? Got it? Good!

Not one single character smokes in Neighbours or Home & Away as Australian laws don't allow it in their timeslots...

I think our soaps/tv have a special kind of license to allow them to smoke indoors. Not sure of all the facts but remember asking about how they were allowed to smoke in the workplace if others weren't and was told there was some kind of loophole that allows it for actors/theatre etc

I have to admit, I've probably never seen a whole episode of any soap in about the past 5 years.
I was shocked a wee bit by the answers here. I'd thought that all the production companies (from hollywood to UK) now had a voluntary agreement these days not to depict smoking on-screen. Makes it funny when you watch episodes of "the Sweeney" (70s police drama replayed ITV3 or wherever) where the character Jack Reagan is not really allowed to appear on-screen without a fag hanging oot his gup!!!
