I couldn't imagine having the energy to keep it up as lies beget more lies so you'd have to devote a lot of time to it to keep all the plates spinning.

yeah, like that woman on the documentary had 2 mobile phones along with the house phones and had created herself 20 close friends who the guy she was duping had talked to via emails and facebook messages.She said she kept all the emails and messages so she could go back and check if need be while talking to the guy..

Probably.

However for someone to go to that lengths i think it would be fair to assume that there was more likely to be a deeper psychological meaning in it for her. Like an escapism from herself or her ability to be a person she had always wanted to be because she had never been accepted in society for herself.

Well i haven't seen it nor any adverts but that is what i would assume. Rejection can have a massive effect on ones life, most people manage to ignore it or channel it into good however some sever cases end up being publicised and you can tell that thats the root cause of many mental illnesses.
