I have the same problem pyr.. with midges and mosquitos. There were 4 of us on holiday a few years ago and we spent the first night just sitting on the balcony playing cards and drinking till the wee small hours and I woke up the next morning coveted in bites and the other 3 people had not 1!

They seem to love me too for some reason.

Oh God, I know that feeling, it happens to me everytime we go to Spain and no one else seems to get them. Apparently, if you get insect repellent with "Deet" in it, it's supposed to work but I haven't tried it yet

I get bitten by mossies to unbeleiveable extent....and the only thing that does the trick is Jungle Forumla.

I never heard of that, do you get it online or what? I have to try something before we go away in August because it's so annoying, I get absolutely covered in them. At the beach last year, I had strangers coming up to me giving me remedies and all, so embarrassing

Boots the Chemist sell it - it's about Ł6/7 or so but I swear on all that's precious to me.... get the spray, and rub it in.

I'm lucky if I get one bite. It's worth every single penny.

Thanks for that, I'm definitely going to try it, it puts a real dampner on the holiday getting covered in bites

Niamh.... I came across it about 13 years ago: and I have NEVER looked back.

Nothing else seems to do the trick for me - and believe me, I've tried every bloody thing recommended (even the old 'drink beer, don't drink anything with mixers etc), from garlic to onions and all sorts of sprays, lotions and pills.

for the sake a a few quid: try it. If it works: you'll be so relieved and can enjoy hols abroad with very little aggro from the blighters!
