http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soham_murders On August 4th 2002, 10 year old best friends Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman were murdered by caretaker Ian Huntley. On August 13th, after nearly two weeks of searching the girls burnt remains were discovered in a ditch. The only evidence found at the scene was the burnt remains of Jessica's man united jersey. The killer Ian huntley is now serving a life sentence in jail. Jessica's father Leslie Chapman publicly said that the next time he wants to see Ian Huntley will be in the same place he last saw his daugther, in a coffin. The 2 girls had attended a barbecue at the Wells's family home. At around 6:15 pm they went out to buy some sweets. On their way back they walked past the rented house of local school caretaker Ian Huntley, in College Close. Huntley saw the girls and asked them to come into his house. He said that his girlfriend, Maxine Carr, was in the house too, but she had in fact gone to visit family in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Shortly after the girls entered his house, Huntley murdered them. Huntley's reasons for killing Wells and Chapman may never be known, but minutes before seeing them he had slammed the telephone down on Carr following a furious argument; Huntley had allegedly suspected Carr of cheating on him. The police suspected that Huntley killed the girls in a fit of jealous rage. This event marks the 8th aniversary of two innocent young girls cut down in there prime by a devil in disguise. Its a day to pay your respects to a tragic tale of when innocence meets evil and to remember the two girls who are gone but never forgotten. Last edited by 'Conor; 04-08-2011 at 02:47 AM. |

Because you put 8 first, then I re-read the dates and realised you meant 9.

Remembering Kerry

What I was sickened by was Huntley giving interviews about them knowing full well he had killed them, acting like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.
It is scary that anyone like that could get anywhere near children. Awful. |

I remember it so well, poor girls. R.I.P. Can't quite believe 9 years has gone by since their disappearance/murder. They'd be 19 and at uni or working and contributing to this society now if they were still alive. Whereas that Huntley scum is sitting in jail getting a hot meal everyday.
That's probably as serious one of my posts will ever get. |

And he has to serve a minimum of 40 years, he'll probably get out then. That's pretty disgusting if he does, it's beyond me how 40 years equals 2 lives.

Well, It says that he has to serve atleast 40 years before he's eligible for parole, I don't know if that means they can then just keep refusing him after that or what?

TIBB's RED DEVIL!!!
|
Still makes me feel sad when thinking about it, chilling image in the MU tops.
That scum is rightly rotting in prison but at least he has to suffer every day and if the death penalty existed now IMO it would be an easy way out for him but nothing can ever bring back those two innocent girls, who should have had their life ahead of them to live.
