No, but marriage is a partnership where decisions are made together. She's just shown that she has no respect for her husbands wishes, his position, or indeed their marriage.

With 'friends' like that, who needs enemies?

I'd be furious if any of my 'friends' discussed my marriage publically.

I agree (as long as he doesn't put it all on expenses)

As for going greyer - Is that even possible?

Isn't that the same reason the royal family turned their backs on Diana? because she didn't conduct herself "properly".

The man knew her before he proposed to her. The idea that she should become some trophy wife for him and the sake of his career is sooo 1950's.

Some people seem to have forgotten the women's liberation movement.

I don't agree with you at all... I can't see many marriages lasting if everybody adopted the "you don't me to do that? Hah! well ****** you!" attitude.

Everyone's entitled to make their own decisions. But people are only interested in Sally because her husband is the Speaker. If she was married to someone else no one would be interested in her. And her indescretions have been many... If the divorce story is true, maybe it was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I didn't mention trophy wives, I mentioned mutual respect for feelings and marriage.

I'll bet if it had been a male on national television saying his wife had begged him not to do something for the sake of her profession but he did it anyway, everybody would be like "what a tosser" especially these women's lib types.

I disagree. They'd call the wife a controlling shrew.

If she was married to ayone else, Joe Green the Grocer for example, she'd never have been able to set foot in that House!

She's not only famous for being married to an MP. How many other MP's wives or husbands can you name off the top of your head? Not very many i suspect.

I have been thinking about this and Sally doesn't seem to be a particularly emotional person on simple matters, she is in the BB house, she has the fee set no matter what, she was up for eviction but that's a week away and the whole thing is only under 3 weeks anyway.

I was left a bit puzzled why she was crying in the toilet after she knew she was up for eviction. Maybe this could be true if she was told,go in BB and that's the marriage threatened by that', she could have been dwelling on that when upset in the bathroom knowing she may be coming out to chaos at home.

I hope it isn't true but it did puzzle me why she was so upset.

Wink John Bercow 'humiliated' by Sally's Big Bro stint

http://www.whatsontv.co.uk/reality/c...ro-stint/13715

Quote:
According to the Mirror, the MP is on a tour of India to "get as far away as possible" from any backlash that might occur as a result of her being on the show.

"Sally likes being on TV and knows it will upset the establishment, which is a big plus," her agent Max Clifford told the paper. "John didn't want her to do it. He hates the show. He thinks it's dreadful. But she didn't want him to be a Tory MP."

The Mirror reports that her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother has already ruffled feathers among other MPs.

Rob Wilson, Tory MP for Reading East, remarked: "John Bercow said he wanted to restore respect and dignity to Parliament in his manifesto for Speaker. I am not sure how Sally Bercow going on one of the country’s tackiest shows helps."

There are also concerns that his position as Commons Speaker could become untenable if Sally makes embarrassing revelations about him on the show.

"It's no secret many senior Conservatives are desperate to see him fall, and a shambles such as this one could easily signal the end of his term in office," said a Commons source. "They will be quietly following Mrs Bercow's remarks in the Big Brother house with keen interest, and it will only take one slip-up for their campaign against him to gain momentum."
Who goes ?

In this case, it could be both Bercows .....

She doesnt seem to give a **** what her husband thinks anyway, which is one of the reasons I like her. I'm surprised they're not already divorced to be honest.

I completely disagree with that kind of marriage, I don't think its healthy and don't know why or how people live like that.

Sally hasn't gone down the pub for a few sociables though, she's gone on national television, and more or less mocked her husband and her marriage.

I have as much freedom as I want: I have a social life without my OH and we have one together... but if he asked me not to do something that would embarrass him or possibly be detrimental to his career, I would respect that as he is my partner and my best friend and thats how relationships work.

I think Sally showed nothing but contempt for her hubby when she laughingly told the nation that she had gone against his wishes. I'm sorry, but I just think she's an arsehole.

Pffft! It's from the Mail, which I believe about as much as I believe David Icke when he says the world is run by super intelligent alien lizard people! Besides which it states that it's his friends who think he should get a divorce, not that it's actually him who is wanting or considering one.

Basically I'll believe this when I hear it from a credible source.

I dont know why y'all are surprised, or saying its a silly reason to divorce someone. As soon as I saw her entering the house, and the attitude she displayed on her little interview, I was thinking, they are probably gonna divorce, and thats why she went in there.
He is the speaker of the house, and yes, "IT IS" embarrassing that her wife goes on a trashy program like Big Brother, where people use foul language and get into all sorts. I wouldnt want that if I was a public figure like that. Look how much Galloway got ridiculed for going into Celebrity Big Brother. It justs seems like she gets off on embarrassing her husband. And he has probably put up with it for a while, but anyone has his breaking point.

Not to say thins story is true, newspapers write a lot fo craap, but I wouldnt be surprised, or frown at him, if he decided to divorce her.
