It's funny, i was thinking the opposite on a section of last nights show. Check this footage of Tom in the Diary Room at approx 4:00 - 4:13. I swear he almost morphs into Alex, in his mannerisms and talking style!

That happens though when you spend so much time with one person.

On topic, neither of them have faced the public vote before so couldn't possibly know who's more popular. I think they have genuine friendship and bounce off eachother.
