Going back years ago: my own insurance went up unbelieveably when I purchased my first convertible (was brand new so knew it was going to be dear) : I phoned them up, said I'd been given a quote (a few hundred quid less - which I hadn't... I just wanted to see how they would react if I threatned to take my business elsewhere). Direct Line it was.

Guess what: soon as I mentioned it, they could beat it by £1.

Told them to (everso politely) ram it - if they were happy to try to fleece a long standing customer - I wasn't interested and I went elsewhere (and actually got it for around what I'd pretended to Direct Line).

If you do enough 'scouting around'... the best part is: half of the less well known insurance companies (ie; name wise) - if you check and read the 'fine print' on the webpages: you tend to find that they are part of the larger banking / insurance companies anyway.... (ie;Lloyds TSB, Halifax etc).

I changed all my house insurances a while back: and the company I am with, is actually part of the company I was with anyway: same criteria, same policy details, same clauses, same excess : but at 1/3 of the price.

It pays to spend a bit of time reading through all the 'guff' sometimes.

I thought she had a convertible

18 year old Alex works at McDonalds and describes herself as a one-of-a-kind-pink-obsessed-Geordie who wants to be taken seriously. Alex previously worked as a flight-attendant. She is teetotal and always picks guys that treat her like a princess; she loves to be spoiled. She thinks that one day she will marry Dappy from N-Dubz and she would love to find romance in the house.

Alex owns a convertible with ‘Barbie’ emblazoned across the side and loves her gay Chihuahua, Tinkerbelle.

Alex describes herself as a cake: “soft, pretty and pink on the outside but when you bite into me I will turn sour”. Alex claims to hold grudges and never apologises saying “I don’t make mistakes, I’m a perfect person”.
