At risk of sounding like a super-pretentious cock, I always find it disappointing when people list celebrities they like as their Idols. I don't know, an Idol to me is someone you greatly admire for the way they go about their life/their devotion/contribution to society and so on. I'm being a hypocrite here because my first thoughts were "Ralph Vaughan Williams" then "Anyone who's devoted their life to helping others" then realised I couldn't name a specific person in mind.

Anyway, there is an elderly man back home who climbs this very, very long steep hill every day in his wheelchair and every time I see him it makes me smile and think to not give up. Not so much having him as an Idol, but I have a strong admiration for him. [/corny]
