Romeo knew what he was telling him was corny. He said it himself when laughing at him.
Nothing wrong with treating a woman like a Queen if she deserves it in my opinion. The Frankie/Kirk way works wonders for one night stands etc, but not much more. That's in my case anyway  . Others may pull it off better.
