Yea I think it's the context the word is used in. If friends are saying in a fun and friendly way, I think it's a good word.

But when it's used as an insult or in a derogatory way, then that's wrong.

A girl was thrown out of big brother for that.

She used the word, said she and her friends would say it in a friendly way. And BB kicked her out anyway.

I remember that,she should have got a warning for it but as she didn't mean it in an offensive way she should never have been chucked out imo.

Yeah. I don't think she was racist which some did. I just think she lived a fairly sheltered lifestyle where she had no idea how much offense she caused saying it.

i disagree, she moved in circles where it was said as a positive....it was only the media spotlight that changed it.
