He actually does look really young for his age, if I had to guess I'd have said he was 65-70 rather than 80, the fact that Anne Kirkbride (Deirdre) is only 57 is quite weird xD

Meh, he's an good character, they'd do damage to the show by getting rid of him, he's one of the main backbones of the show, the only other people from the original episodes who are still there are Dennis Tanner and Emily Bishop

..I remember him when he was young..I think my mum watched the first ever episode...
...He was quite that lad...good old Ken
...Quite an achievement to be in the original cast..may he go on for many more years

I think Deirdre's good, she can be funny when she's not given crap stuff to do with Tracy. I can see her turning into the new Blanche.
But, yeah, just because Roache has been there from the beginning doesn't mean he's anything special. Plenty people stay in the same job for most of their lives, but it's a pity he didn't learn anything acting-wise during his 50 years on the show. He's always hammy.

I don't see the point in killing either of them off, there's no point, they have a lot of connections in the show.
