Bulbasaur was my starter Pokémon so I have to stay loyal. I liked (and I think usually had them on my team) Golduck, Lapras, Gyarados, Pidgeot and Beedrill. I'd usually have a weaker Pokémon on my team as well to go out first with an XP bonus thing so that my first move to take them back gave them XP points without them having to fight or usually get hurt.
