I don't think it was really an improvement on BB11, all they did was get a better group of housemates. As far as everything else C4 still did it better for me.

The HMs are all that matter usually, yeah the tasks and twists and that can make things a bit better or a bit worse, but all comes down to the HMs at the end of the day

HOWEVER, it's the overall management and production of the show that has went to sh*t.

The way Channel 5 ignore fans, which CH4 did too but at least we got LF and decent titles etc - I mean I'm sorry but say what you want about BB11's titles.. they piss all over anything we've had since then.

The houses are the same old plastic bollocks now, it's just a studio with a few new repeating backdrops on the wallpaper and new furniture and a load of neon lights - at least on CH4 the budget was bigger and they went all out on the houses.

Both broadcasters ******ed the show up - and BB9 was the last great series we had, I partly blame the credit crunch for BB10's mess up though.

People do need to stop acting like C4 was amazing and treated Big Brother like gold, because they didn't - they use to, but from 2009 onwards they bastardized it. However, Channel 5 aren't making it any better, in terms of actual production, when they really could if they just listened to us.
Endemol are so fortunate that Big Brother has one of the biggest and most vocal fanbase of any franchise, they should be thankful that we speak out about what we hate and love - and build on that, not blank us and treat us like idiots.
I distinctivly remember you saying last year how much you liked the house and titles though lol

Yeah I agree partly but for me it just as much comes down to how they handle the show and housemates. The editing last year and no live feed completly ruined it because we didn't get to know anything about the housemates other than what they wanted us to know. On C4 this was never a problem. The better house, presenter and news updates was an added bonus.

Well I like Brian so that's not an issue for me, the spin off shows are fine, they were never fantastic on C4 either, apart from when Russell Brand was presenting Big Mouth. The house itself, I couldn't care less about tbh. I do agree with you however about the Live Feed, even if I didn't watch a whole pile of it on C4, it was still reassuring to know it was there, someone would always point out badly edited situations etc.

The last couple of years on C4 was a bag of wank its even worse on chavvel 5.

Me too. I'm often confused by Patrick's opinions. He has very interesting points to make that I enjoy reading but his opinions change quite often. Just now, in the other thread, he's decided he loves this year's house. lol

Yeah I did. I adored the house, until it appeared on HD TV and you could tell how plastic and fake it was and those 'stone designs' on the wall were lazy and just repeated throughout.

The house was horrible looking back and in contrast to now, infact I bet this house will look bad too in HD TV, I'm hoping otherwise though.

As for the titles, Yeah I loved them too for CBB8 - but then of course they carried on, and they didn't change for CBB9.

It's the fact that it's all the same, that's what's boring now. The titles don't even go with the music anymore, if you look at a series like BB10 - the graphics would be in time with the theme, not now. It's just laziness.

'LETS GET A SHOT OF JEDWARDS HAIR TURNING! OMG AND LUCIEN'S SEXY LIPZ. THESE TITLES GUN BE GOOD'
Piss off.

If they really wish to show the house in the titles, then do it BB3/BB4 style and have it abit more exciting, some graphics and sexy colours in there - stop cutting back and forth to the housemate's eye brows and lips.

I mean, these kind of titles piss all over the CBB9/BB12/CBB8 ones:

Ch4's BB wasn't perfect but it still felt like BB to me unlike Ch5's piece of **** that it's got now.

If BB13 doesn't impress me after the first week then im out as I can only be loyal to a franchise for so long.

Why are people getting so mad about the name tags what damage are they doing.

This.

Every reality show has them now. And they're only there for viewers who tune in every now and then etc
No harm.

They should just keep the name tags for the diary room like BBUSA and have them appear in the bottom corner. That could work and be practical it just seems distracting to have them on screen whilst conversations are going on I end up concentrating on the name instead of what's being said.

I agree that C4 made it into a very weak show in terms of gritty drama (Nudity, arguing, drinking), but that had to happen after the race row because they were under so much scrutiny by the media, public and ofcom.

C5 have brought some of those fun and controversial aspects back.....however, they have completely turned it into a farce, it's so overly edited and ridiculous. My main issues are the stupid voice over lines, the excessive music and montages.

C4 may have ruined it at the end, but they also made it what is was in the glory days.

I don't care about them anymore but it's one of many examples of Big Brother morphing into a completely different show. Following all the other reality shows instead of setting the trend as the daddy of all of them.

This, that's why they annoy me so much, I end up not concentrating on what the HM's are saying either.
