Scott thinks of himself as being a bright boy, so does he think that by being celibate he will eventually turn straight, just like Becky would become slim if she eats sensibly and does some exercise? They're not the same thing at all: sexuality not being a choice after all, neither does being gay damage you body. Becky will just get bigger and bigger as she ages, and it will be more and more difficult to maintain her weight, let alone lose it.
