No, 50k is not life changing in reality. In theory it's great and when you get it you think it's a lot and it's amazing. In reality, it's not very much at all. I got left just under £50k from an Aunt. By the time I paid off all my bills, the car went wrong so had to get a new car, had a holiday then bought a few nice but inexpensive things for my new baby, most had gone. This was 10 years ago when things weren't so expensive. We had to re save for our deposit on a house.
Now I would invest that money more wisely, and if conor did that then the money could make a slight difference. But if you've never had it, you think it's a lot and spend freely. Before you know it, it's gone. Conor has already said he doesn't have a job, so the likelihood is that he'll try to live the high life off the money and blow it by accident.
As someone said, not life changing just handy
