I don't think the world would end really. I mean if all the machines in the world just stopped working then there'd be problems, i.e like nuclear power plants going into meltdown because machines can't manage the reactor. But I don't think it would cause the actual apocalypse. We'd probably just get past the big problems and then go back to a slightly simpler existence. Life would go on.
Personally, I'd hate it. I use so many different bits of technology for entertainment all the time (phone, laptop, Kindle..). I'd have nothing to do.
