I completely disagree with your first point. The familiarity of the Mods on here is a major turn off. They have their buddies and pets and hold grudges - from what I've seen. Not good - the DS model of being mods, rather than posters (and not wanting to be all things to all men) is a much saner, safer option. There's also a bit of grandstanding - do we really need to have I AM A MOD writ large under the name of a MOD everytime they post?

Tibbs is a great site, but it's exceptionally, extraordinarily unwelcoming, in my experience. Newcomers are treated with disdain and suspicion and a lot of people, I'd imagine, find the frosty reception doesn't balance the rewards of acceptance.
