Either way they were right to end BB. It needed at least a rest.

I don't think it did need a rest. I think Channel 4 deliberately ran the show into the ground in hopes no channel would dare pick it up after they axed it.
Channel 4 have reaped what they sowed.

Yeah they didn't expect it to be picked up by any major channel so when Channel 5 got it I don't think they were to worried at first as its allways been seen as a flop channel.

I think they finally realised it was going to be big competition for them though with all the media attention leading up to CBB8.

This was backed up by the bitter snipe from them on launch night when a continuity announcer introduced Twilight by saying: ‘Resurrecting the deceased might be what some channels like to do on summer evenings, but here on Channel 4, we prefer the undead.

Channel 5 went on to have over 5 million viewers and they got about 1 million if less.

Now Channel 5 are beating the Channel 4 across the board.

Shame

That quote before Twilight made me mad, but us/Ch5 got the last laugh

Whether they did or they didn't, after 11 years the format needed a breather.

It hardly got a rest?

It was shoved back on air in no time and was more overkilled than before - because of C5's love of CBB.

It should of relaunched in 2012.

I know that.

I'm saying channel 4 had the right idea to end it. It wasn't their problem channel 5 put it back on again.
