but in the end hes come up against a man with stronger minerals and stronger set of values....he tried to misquote sam when he thought hed left, he also tried to snake the money, but I don't burn him at the stake, hes a greta housemate still

But I have to back the good man. the good man is samoses the great. he told dexter straight a few times. I just wish dex hadn't underestimated sam, that's his biggest and perhaps ONLY major error in a brilliant gameplan.

Muttering under his breath that someone else won a competition he intentionally lost is stronger values? If Dexter hadn't taken what he did, Charlie or the twins would've won instead. Would Sam be muttering under his breath about them, too? With the only difference being, Charlie and the twins wouldn't call him out for bitching?

The twins did not. They went 2nd and intentionally chose a number that was lower than the highest available, but still over 95, because they didn't want to leave with less than 95. If everyone took the highest amounts, THEY would've taken the 99 that Charlie got.
