Default Marriage

What do you think about it?
Are you married? Do you want to get married eventually?

I do not want to get married but think it's nice that people trust that much..I can't do that.

Only want to get married when I'm 100% sure, preferably would have liked to have known them at least 5 years and lived with them for a couple of years

I don't plan to ever get married, the institution doesn't appeal to me at all.

And what do I think about it? I think it's a good thing, especially if you both plan to raise a child.

Used to hate the idea of getting married but quite open to it now even though I wouldn't want kids, don't want to get married till I'm at least 30 though (probably later) and like Nathan said want to have been with them a while and probably lived with them

Don't get why some people get married before they've moved in together, surely you need to know that you're able to live with each other first

I was very anti marriage, until I met hubby.
Together 5 years before we tied the knot.

Best thing we ever done, still together and into our 37th year together.

My parents never lived together before they got married, and that was probably why they eventually split up, Lol

I don't see myself getting married... I really don't. I've been to two weddings in my life and I was really unimpressed with the whole concept, seems like a waste of money and a lot of stress mixed in with deep thinking about invites, seating plans, catering and a whole bunch of other crap under the hilarious misnomer of "the happiest day of our lives".

I can't predict the future but I really don't think I would get married unless there was some important reason that we should (financial maybe?? I dunno) - I'd rather spend the money on something else that we could enjoy for a long time, like a holiday, a home, a car... than on one day...

..I agree with the wedding bit itself, I never understand the 'big wedding' thing because of the stress it causes and how much money it costs and many people go into debt for it as well but for me the ceremony is the least important thing about marriage...

I was married....sadly we divorced, no major fall out just a massive thing that we couldn't overcome.... Was desperately sad and I loved being married. Still great friends now. Having said that, I wouldn't do it again.

Of course, it should be about what the ceremony represents... which is why I'd rather just skip the ceremony part and just be a committed couple who do all the same things a married couple do, without the obscenely high price tag attached to day 1 of married life!

I would need quite a tolerant wife I think, seen too many good men fall thanks to their wife not letting them play cricket or go down the pub

My dad used to go out to the pub all the time and get really drunk and come home in a total state when I was a kid so my mum laid down the law and now he gets one night out a week and he has to be home before midnight... he agreed and they've been happy ever since/he agreed because he valued his life and my mum's been happy ever since

I've been married 6 years and we were together 4 years before we got married, I knew after about a week together that we'd get married lol but I do take it seriously so yeah definitely being with eachother a few years and living with eachother first is a must I think. Anyway, yeah it was the best decision ever

I think it was fair enough really, he gets really weird when he's drunk sometimes, it's fine if it's only every now and then but I can imagine if he was going out all the time he'd probably be his weird drunk self on a regular basis and it would have driven my mum mad... but she respected the fact he wanted to spend time with his friends too.
