The Zombies look quite ferocious and different in this, not like your normal ones that are just scattered about moving really slow

This looks quite good, but it's a bit irritating because the book it was based on specifically stipulated that zombies were slow and couldn't run full pelt like that.

Either way I'm looking forward to it.

The book was absolutely amazing and the film adaptation doesn't seem to have very much to do with it which is deeply disappointing. As Niall said, the book had slow zombies and, rather than being a novel about zombies, it was more a political dialogue with a background of 'zombies took over the world' but you could have quite easily replaced zombies with another international catastrophe and ended up with a book that was much the same. Regardless, it's exciting to see a film that was largely filmed in Glasgow and for it to be an adaptation of a book I loved so I'm excited to see it. Hopefully it'll be a good film in its own right, I'm going to try and not think about the fact it shares a name with the book and treat it as a standalone film.

I think Brad Pitt's character is supposed to be based on the character of the narrator in the World War Z book. The story of the book is set out like a report/interview - the narrator is like a UN type, who has been commissioned to gather data for a report, and he gets told that the human aspect of what he found isn't suitable for the report but that he should publish it as a book - so he does. All of that's in like the prologue of the book, and then after that it's a series of interviews with different characters, like soldiers from around the world, survivors etc, showing their experiences, and then is also a commentary on what would happen if the world as we know it collapsed and had to rebuild itself, and like Tibet ends up being a free country and has the world's largest population IIRC, Cuba is the leading economic power etc. It's a great book. Anyway, the character of the narrator isn't at all developed, he just asks questions of the other characters and you get lots of background about them. It's surprising they've chosen to build a film out of the book in this way, which is why I don't even consider it to be an adaptation.

The zombies look really fast

This has taken ages though, I've been looking forward to it since they were filming in glasgow.

Yeah think I prefer slow zombies actually, these are so fast and packed into one space that you can tell too much that they are CGI

Brad looks good. Tired of zombie films though. Hope the Illuminati is not trying to warn us.

It could be a decent film but it will be a terrible adaptation.

Yeah. I haven't read the book but I know a lot about it, and all the geopolitical shift it details is really interesting. I'd much rather it were more true to the book. It would've been a more interesting twist on zombie films then rather than this which seems like some standard zombie movie.

Juan Antonio Bayona confirmed to be directing the sequel

-doesn't get how there's a sequel seeing as they sorted it out at the end of the first film-
