I was 4, I was told then because I was terrified of even the thought of Santa Claus. I wouldn't go near him in Stores with my Mum and Grandmother, I wouldn't talk to him and was really scared of the thought of him bringing presents.
I once said could they just lock all the doors and make it that he couldn't get in,only to be told by a neighbour that you cannot keep him out, if all entries are locked,he has loads of little elves that can get through the keyholes and open the door for him.
I was literally petrified at that thought.
I even said I didn't want any presents when I was 4 so would they tell him not to come.

So my Mum told me the truth and I was really happy, it was a case of not being able to sleep on christmas eve for the wrong reasons, once I knew the truth,I slept very happily.

I laugh at it all now but as a young child, I was very unhappy to say the least at the thought of Santa Claus.

Very much so, it is sadly the stories that get now get told to all my Nephews and Nieces now.
I was though really, for some reason, scared to death as to the idea of him.
