I think most people would have guessed that the 6 inch cuffs being on constant 24/7 was a tad unrealistic.

Well that depends on how serious you are taking things really, I prefer to watch and enjoy rather than letting little details ruin an entire show that I have loved for years.

I think what Fingers is saying (or my interpretation is) that there is no need for the show to exagerate what was going to happen in the house with regard to wearing the cuffs, Emma did specifically say they would be tethered 24/7 which was clearly a lie. The show is for an adult audience they shouldn't even try to pull the wool over peoples eyes like this as it is insulting, almost as insulting as Rylan phoning up last year and pretending to an old dear called Joyce!

Of course it is, but its the pretence that they are? (which is then carried out really badly ) doesn't bother me or I'm pretty sure most of the audience that they aren't.

No its not trivial because they have gone to alot of effort to pretend that they are, (ie, Emma saying they will be tethered 24/7, the extensions for showering and the toilet, the 10 minute window to get their PJs on) but then let themselves down in the details by showing a clip of them in bed without the cuffs, why not just be honest and say they wont be wearing them in bed, nobody cares that they aren't wearing them

They emphasised it for dramatic effect, 16/7 doesn't sound as great as 24/7, if I got wound up every time something turned out to be different from how it was advertised I'd be constantly pissed off what's the benefit in having them handcuffed while they're asleep?

I'm not wound up about it when Emma said they would be cuffed 24/7 I knew that wouldn't happen at any rate, because it is would not be practical or physically possible and I doubt any of the HMs would have agreed to it, neither do I think that it came as a surprise to any of them that they would be going in in pairs, they would have been well briefed before hand, its just the idea that people swallow it, don't get me wrong I love it I don't care how much they manipulate but if you are going to tell porkies at least edit it accordingly so that it is not glaringly obvious that what you said is happening is not.

I think that's always been part of the charm of Big Brother though, it's not some glossy Hollywood-esque production, it's always felt like an amateur production done really well but there are always little errors and bad edits here and there. There will always be people who will believe what they are told by the media and either don't notice when the reality is different or get pedantic about it because they felt misled. At any rate I don't really see it as a big deal, they'll be handcuffed for all the good bits of the day, I'm sure it'll result in hilarity.

Im with fingers on this one, I still enjoy the show but also want to know details. Evander said he couldnt take off his jacket yet Marcus said it extended so did they not tell the housemates this and just let them fgure it out?

Even with 6 foot handcuffs it is impossible to take off your jacket without a pair of scissors.

They do still technically 'sleep with eachother'. Since they're in pairs they have no choice but to share the same bed. Still leaves them with no choice but to stay together. As for the being able to separate for certain things, they are still within close proximity with eachother. They are technically together 24/7. It's not really '16/7' - unless it takes you 8 hours to go to the toilet 6 times a day, have a shower and talk to BB once or twice.

This just seems to total nitpicking. Just enjoy the show!

8 hours of sleep a night; but they're still more or less doing everything together so that covers the whole point of the handcuffing right? Agreed, just enjoy the show!

Who said anything about not enjoying the show the point being made is they seem to think viewers are a bit on the thick side, that is all, as I stated before it is a show for adults, there is no need to try and soft soap things for adult viewing or try to insult intelligence! Just be honest about what is happening and what most definately is not!
