There are many unhappy rich people. There are many happy not so wel off people.

Money can't buy happiness but it makes life easier.

On a personal level, as long as we have enough to lve on and a bit spare I am happy

No, I feel that real happiness comes from within. Money can be a catalyst to your emotions, maybe similar to something like alcohol. But for me just money doesn't make me happy at all.

However in saying that, I've never wanted for money. So maybe if I spent parts of my life desiring it and dreaming of what I could spend it on, then maybe money would make me happy.

As it is though other things in my life make me happy, not paper or numbers on a screen.

..not if it was all you had in your life, no..having huge money worries and struggling puts a big stress on people, so even if other areas of their lives were ok, it would be difficult..obviously the ideal would be to have financial security as well..(I'm not talking about huge sums of money..)...but if all you had was money and unhappiness elsewhere, life would be just as difficult but in a totally different way... the thing would be to find something fulfilling to do with your money, I guess...

Depends on the circumstances, for instance if you have money and your health is poor and you are confined to bed or in hospital then money won't make you happy, if you are healthy and able to enjoy it then a certain amount of money will make you happy though judging by the amount of lottery winners who blow the lot and end up skint, or end up separating from their husband/wife, or losing their friends then in cases like that it can cause more problems than it solves there is a fine line between enough and too much!

I'd say yes, if you know you have that funding aside that means you wouldn't have to worry as to bills or prices of things.
That you had the security of knowing reserve was there.

However I am not so sure if you have vast wealth.
Problems seem to be looked for when you have ridiculous wealth and generally those that have same, a good number never get to enjoy it really and it ends up eventually being squandered likely by whoever gets it after they die.

So it is where you are on the social scale and what you do with it for me that would mark out if it makes you happy or not.
It should because it is security in the end but it does seem to create more problems for some of those very rich than it eases.
