Hi yes I do have it and was told it has nothing to do with your diet, which I don't think is right like as if I eat too much crap im bad.I think myself its brought on by stress but I did find out a very old uncle of mine had it.I wouldn't wish it on anyone not even my worst enemy. before I knew what was wrong with me I went through 3 months of hell, I couldn't eat as it would go straight through me, the pains were horrendous, I even left a job after 2 weeks as I couldn't get off the toilet. @ 1st they thought it was IBS but a verfy nice dr insisted on sending me for a colonscopy @ the time they cud have stuck a red hot iron up my backside as I just wanted to know wtf was wrong and could anything be done? Im on medication for life for it which seems to control it along with taking 1 codeine a day but if I get any pains or the runs I take more codeine which seems to do the trick. I go to the hospital every 6 months for regular check ups but if im ever to have a very bad flare up I have to ring them straight away. @ 1st they put me on steroids for 8 weeks as its inflammation, then they put me on a few diff kinds of meds until they found the right one. Before I got diagnosed with it id never heard of it, but its surprising how many people have it as when in remission you can like me lead a perfectly normal life. The guy who plays cain dingle in emmerdale has got it.
