tbh, i think post counts shouldn't count in the mod section, niamh nathan and marc all have like 50k+ posts and i'm pretty sure they're not that devout to discussing moderation

Please can we keep this as a discussion thread and not an argument thread? I just wanted to ask the question and get other peoples views on it, and some people are turning it into a 'members vs mods' rally.

I see both sides of the debate tbh, but I feel they should either be counted or we should just have post counts removed.

Plenty of people have said it is intimidating being new on TiBB. Why do you think that is.

I've never seen such occurrence, I think the people you may be referring to are troll accounts? For instance Jay. joined this week and has fitted in without any bother at all.

Bring C&Gs posts back for a day like i said so people can see what their posts would be. think that's the main reason people want it. then after the day change it back. everyones happy

It's not exactly contributing to the forum as such (like i know it's sorting it out) but it's not a general discussion for members, it's a bit like a social group, posts don't count in there for the members

That doesn't really apply to any of us though, all of us only do a tiny minority of our posts in the Mod forum and we're pretty much all active across the different forum sections

That spells disaster IMO. People would just be spamming for that whole day and then people would just say 'I told you so' when actually they probably wouldn't spam if the post counts counted forever (or for a long trial period).

Well who's not?

All the Mods who are regularly online atm are also posting across the forum. The only ones who aren't that active right now are Marc and Eoin but they're not posting in the Towers either
