Her "argument" with Christopher said it all really.
She was p*ssed off because she wasn't invited to the party. For once she didn't get her way.
Her wording was classic "after I made such an effort with you this week". In other words, why wasn't he grateful?
Followed up by "I've never had effort back from you". So after weeks of ostracising the guy, she's now blaming him for not making an effort to get to know her in the past. And because she has now made the effort, she can't understand why he isn't sucking up to her.
In Helen's mind, its all about Helen.
