It means if you place £1 on someone at 8/1 to win - and they do win - you get £8 back from the bookie plus return of your £1 bet.

That means if you bet 1 pound, you get 8 pounds back. The shorter the odds, the more likely the betmaker thinks the person will win/the more odds that have been placed on that person.

Come on BB, more positive Helen edits please... Betfred's odds have halved since I put my bet on .

Annoyingly though the cut in Helen's odds seems to only be pushing Chris / Ash / Pav's odds out with Christopher and Ashleigh staying the same. If Christopher drifts to 7/2 I'll have £20 on him, too. Not worth it at 5/2 though...

Ashleigh I don't think will leave odds-on.
