Default Do we like the horror Genre?

Inspired by the latest release of Alien Isolation, the first video game where a spare pair of pants is an absolute necessity.

So what do feel about films and games the scare the sh*t out of us? Do we get off on the thrill of being on the edge of our seats or is it 45 minutes of being under the duvet and 30 minutes of burying your hands over your eyes before asking your boyfriend to stand outside the toilet in case the scary clown is upstairs waiting for yer?

Poll coming.

I've not made it public to spare Josy the humiliation of having everybody know she picked the coward option.

Movie and game wise horror is my favourite genre.

Alien Isolation really is quite terrifying but I felt kind of bored between.

I love horrors but for me they don't scare the same anymore. I don't know if its because I've become desensitized but I can't remember the last time I was really scared at a film.....I'm not a huge fan of stalk and slash movies that rely on gore to get a reaction either

Nah, can't be doing with them. Torture porn movies like SAW are the dirt worst.

I really enjoyed it. I think 90% of horror films now are pale copies of copies Kaz and this doesn't really introduce anything new, in fact it's loosely based on H.P. Lovecraft's 'From Beyond' which was made into a film in the 80's, but this film has its genuinely 'jumpy' moments.

Need any virtual company to hold your hand while you watch it and I'm there.

I saw From Beyond a few years ago Kirk, was quite nasty back in the day,but looks a bit naff nowadays,I like spooky, haunting movies better than slashy,so I might need your virtual company for one of those,One of my faves is The Haunting but not the new one ,the old black and white one ,I also liked the Hellraiser one when it first came out.

I would always pick a horror over any other genre, i love the rush you get from being scared, there aren't many good new horrors but you can't go wrong with a good slasher film.

I love horrors but I have to be in the right mood to watch them, and during those times I'd watch four or five in a week, but then I could go a month or two without the desire to see one.
