She does what she is good at - her opinions don't interest me and she can say what she likes. She comes across as pretty stupid and predictable in the house in many ways despite her intelligence, but let's face it, she found something she was good at that people would pay her for and made a success out of it. That's smart enough for most people.

It's people being outraged by how horrid some of the things she says can be that keeps her successful.

She can be nice, she can be nasty - but basically she has to be nasty to make a decent living - and such is the world, being nice rarely cuts it.

I was never interested in her before this show, and won't be interested in her after it - I was just surprised at how unsophisticated and crude her behaviour is, but that's old now.

Very valid points. The reason I brought up compassion is because the thread title is "Why can't the PUBLIC accept that Hopkins is a nice person??"

so we don't need to go into what she needs to do for a living, we all have choices in the paths we take. She chose her path, and its one where she is an unpleasant troll, incapable of showing an ounce of compassion to anyone in her path. That's why I can't accept that she is a nice person
