If you're looking for more of a game of housemate dynamics and watching each housemate and how they handle the pressures and mind games then he definitely ruins it. A lot of housemates have been marginalized by CBB in order to concentrate on the Perez drama. It's hard enough to show the dimensions of each housemate in hour a day...but for this series it's been all Perez and Katie. I personally would have like to see more of the other housemates but I can't blame CBB for what they choose to air....how can they not air the Perez drama? I blame Perez (and to a smaller degree, Hopkins) for hogging the limelight. So for me Perez has effected the series in a negative way.

There's no point in even hoping for anything other than that anymore though. Seems to be the only two things the producers want to focus on is arguments and showmances. If you look at the last BB for example it was all about Helen V's Toya/Ashleigh whoever and when things were calm they engineered tasks designed to stir things up again
