Forget 'mitigation' or 'rehabilitation', all crimes against children, the infirm and elderly, should carry mandatory minimum 10 year sentences as punishment pure and simple, and as a very loud and clear message of deterrent, that the weakest members of society will be protected against despicable, spineless, predatory cowards.
