I just think without Joels diary room entry a warning would have been issued..but what I think don't really matter I don't make the rules.

Everything in Joels body language was shouting out he was not comfortable with what Aaron was doing. His first instinct was probably to deck him, but he couldn't easily in that environment. He didn't know what to do, hence his constant walking around.
