I like Marc and I certainly respect women (and men, who are no less deserving of respect). I like him because I see him as a wind-up merchant, not some woman-hating bully (which is especially confusing since males have been at the brunt of his behaviour just as much).
I disagree with the last part of your post, he hasn't treated the men in there in the same way he has treated the women. I think Sam somewhat encourages the comments he makes toward her so I'm not too fussed about that but the things he said to Chloe were out of order and just nasty, therefore I don't get why people support him. Obviously you can all like who you want to like but it's slightly disappointing, that's all. I also don't think the posts about lack of respect for women from Marc fans were insulting as such.

I've seen people on here claim it's just banter over and over again and that deep down he's this nice person but he's crossed the line far too many times and been asked to stop by housemates and BB and he's pretty much refused. His comments have offended and hurt Chloe, Jade and Harry and reduuced them to tears so for me people who find his comments funny towards women and find his constant crude words entertaining maybe don't appreciate that the women around him should not have to put up with it.

Therfore I genuinely wonder how much respect for women some people may have if they find him calling somebody a cum bucket or a ugly pig prostitute honestly amusing because personally if I saw a man call a woman those things I would be disgusted.
I was paraphrasing, but the point that it's hard to believe that someone can have respect for people and be a Marc fan was said, and I don't think that's fair.

In regard to the specific comments you mentioned, I can say I believe he crossed some lines and I voted yes on the poll asking if he deserved his warning for his comments to Sam (but I think that was just really bad humour rather than a serious comment).

Actually, I never find his outrageous comments funny, that's not the side of Marc I'm a fan of.

Well as said above, me liking Marc has nothing to do with his comments (which I don't find funny, but I also don't believe most of them are serious).

I first started liking Marc when he objected to the ridiculous nomination of Eileen last week, and then when he provided a much needed voice of reason when everyone else in there was jumping on the "Let's hate Simon" bandwagon. His stupid comments are his downside.

And I think any posts generalising fans of a housemate and making unfair judgements are insulting, to be honest.

goos post, he has many faults and makes mistakes and says some dumb things...but he has more qualities and has the guts to speak his honest opinion and he stuck up for the underdog too

Maybe members wouldn't hate on the men if C5 did a decent job casting instead of giving us lifeless dullards and OTT misogynists.

the main sexism is against men in most series, did you recall denise welch hitting Michael madsen in the face? or jade and co mocking dirk benedicts cancer and alcoholism or cutting up mens clothes etc but you ignore than. this site is packed with men haters always baging on about respecting ALL women...why single out women only for respect? isn't equality supposed to work both ways?

It does work both ways but this current series has a housemate in it calling women cum buckets, ugly pigs and fat sti carriers.

If Gina pops in next week and starts telling all the guys they're worthless bastards, ugly mouth breathers and generally being as hidious as Marc is being damn straight I'll be calling her a horrible person too.
