This has been my point all along really. These people are not monsters, or at least, they weren't born monsters. They aren't just evil beings who want to hurt / kill / cause damage. They are taken when they are young kids like this and they are systematically broken, completely psychologically ruined, in order to create monsters.

This is why bombing and using drones and shock and awe will never work. All it will ever do is create more displaced children with dead families to be taken in and easily converted.

I know this might be controversial but I think we should just... leave them to it. This is not going to go away. No army can stop an idea. These people have been pushed to the brink and are fighting back against what they see as decades of Western oppression in a region that's already full of ethnic and religious tensions, it's not like a case of Axis vs Allies - this is a big unholy mess. This is more or less what Catholics and Protestants went through centuries ago in Europe.

I wholeheartedly agree. While ever we continue to poke into other people's affairs and think that we own the world and know what's best for it, the longer this will continue. Is it really of any surprise that things like this happen after everything we've done to them?
