Here's the thing though, this girl is not of the opposite gender. She is of the same gender. No problem.

As for rape victims, if someone had been raped by a member of the opposite sex in a toilet, then I'd go so far as to say it's a damn sight safer to have many more people in the same toilet to prevent and restrain things like that from happening. If someone wants to enter an opposite gender toilet to rape someone, they will. If everyone's going to the same toilet it makes it a hell of a lot more difficult.

Oh and of course, same sex rape is also a thing.

It's all about making kids comfortable, if the girls don't want someone who is still biologically a male using their bathroom then they shouldn't be allowed to, I'm all for making people who are going through personal things comfortable, but not at the expense of other people, there are normally separate disabled toilets around schools, let her use those if she doesn't feel comfortable going into the guys bathroom.

The only reason people aren't comfortable with it right now is because it's unusual because that's how everyone is socialised, to use separate toilets. Doesn't mean that's the way it has to be and just as people were conditioned into thinking that way, over time they could easily be turned the other way by creating more unisex toilets. Perhaps creating three toilets in public places to start with would be a good idea so if people don't care about sharing they can use the unisex one.

Sex in school is a separate issue but the people I know who did it in school did not choose a toilet, believe me and for those who do having more people in one toilet means it's easier to be monitored and again more difficult to get away with

As for people pondering over a trans person's biological sex, this shouldn't be happening. You are identified outwardly to other people on gender and gender alone, the only reason someone's physiological attributes should be of any concern to someone is if you wish to sleep with them. No other reason to be thinking about it, especially in one of the most personal and private moments such as a toilet. Again, people need to stop associating trans with sex reassignment surgery because not everyone wishes to transition, nor should they nor do they need to. How do you deal with this outside of school as an adult in a public place? So long as your gender aligns with that of the gender-assigned toilet, I don't see the problem. The toilets are divided by gender not sex, so unless there's going to be genital inspections upon entry then those who match the gender of the toilet should be free to enter it.

Of course this'd all be sorted by the creation of unisex toilets with cubicles only and would have the added benefit of being more inclusive to trans people and those who do not conform to the gender binary.

As someone who has spent decades patronising 'Gay' nightclubs, I am totally used to both sexes being in the same toilets and it is no big deal to me personally, but people using toilets in nightclubs are usually pissed or stoned or both, and thus their inhibitions and sensitivities are chemically removed, girls in college though are a whole different case, and there may be females around who are embarrassed to use a WC - especially for a 'no. 2' - in front of someone they know is a 'male' -- wig and dress or otherwise.

I know more than one female who 'cough', 'crinkle' toilet paper or use other methods to 'muffle' breaking-wind noises and other embarrassing noises associated with defecating - and that is when they are in a toilet on their own.

At work we have a transgender woman, I give zero ****s which toilet she uses. She's lovely. People stare at her especially newbies but she's comfortable around the majority of people. There's still a lot of work to do. They need a separate movement to gay rights because transgenders confuse a lot of people.

What I am hating is people mocking black lives matter. Why do we have to support everyone and get scathed when we don't yet others can mock us

I think only the second apostrophe is wrong. The first one is a possessive apostrophe, which is being used correctly. the rights that belong to girls, so they are girl's rights.

I was in a McDonalds in April when I experienced a unisex bathroom, the men's on one side, women on the other with the unisex sinks in the middle, it was really odd, however I guess it would get easier next time I'd use it?

Although I always choose a cubicle over a urinal, I don't like the 'lads standing at a urinal' experience

..I guess that I just don't understand the objections really..if some are upset by Perry using the female loos then they can't be seeing her as a female and she is a female...but that mind-set may stay with them when in their working world, there is often only one loo for male and female use anyway...female loos are all cubicles anyway so very private...ok, maybe she could use a disabled loo or something but that's like saying...'we don't know where to put you/you're a bit of a dilemma and an oddity..'..so really an awful solution...
