I think Janice reminds him of his mum and that's why he's been so horrid to her, and on top of that i feel he invested all of himself into a friendship with James, whereas in my opinion James has used him, James sees this as a game and has played it as a game, and Austin has fallen head first into an unrequited relationship and has not played the game at all, what i like about Austin is that what you see is what you get, he's a simple type of person who doesn't appear to have an agenda, on the other hand James has an agenda and he's always thinking, and watching and composing himself with the moral high ground, James is a sneak and not a person to trust.

No, i think their friendship is genuine. But Austin expects James to agree with everything he says and does. James is his own person and has his own mind. I find Austin very controlling. He's obsessed with James, so now he's making him feel guilty to get him back onside.
