that is just falling in love and that has been genetically imprinted through natural selection and time in order for children to be born and genes to be passed on

I've never been "in love", so I wouldn't know. I just think that with soulmates it's an entirely different level of feeling to that of love. It's so much more than that. It's not just love.

.....hmmm, I would say that's a physical attraction and a sexual chemistry though, that might not develop into anything deeper beyond that in the long term to make a 'soul mate' or a long lasting relationship...we could feel similar things with a crush, I guess..

Yes "one person in the world" is insane. I mean, my wife grew up 210 miles from where I did and technically in another country (Yes... she is an Engl... but it's OK I dragged her back north) and I'd STILL consider that to be pretty "local" when you think about it. When you consider that some people marry - and seem very happy with - people they were born in the same hospital as, and then sat next to in Higher English... the idea of "one person for everyone" starts to sound a bit bonkers.

I'm not "romanticising" it (which doesn't really make sense as love is romance), I'm just imagining what it's like because I've never felt it before.

Love is romance? I wouldn't say so, you can love someone without being romantic

Its transcendant. Being in love is totally different to just loving someone.

..I do believe, as others have said...that it's a complete compatibility between two people and yeah, not everyone finds that...some people though, find it more than once in their lives...I believe in 'sliding doors' and if a different connection in life was taken and that if that meant that you never met your life partner/had no knowledge of them existing...then you could find that same complete compatibility with someone else and then they would have been your 'soul mate'...

They invented the concept of heaven as a tool of social control but not souls or soul mates.

Hmmm that's just early-stage love stuff though? As you get properly into the guts of loving someone it's not that simple. I do still sometimes get butterflies randomly with my wife but it's not a constant feeling... how would someone live like that?

Anyway, yeah, I also think that's being "in love" and not necessarily the same thing as a "soul-mate". I consider me and my wife to be both and feel lucky to have that. I do know couples who are very very much in love who I wouldn't think are "soul mates" at all.

Its not hard for me although there are many people I would go as far as to term friends and possible soulmates.
No hesitation however mine would be Mystic Mock.
My very best friend on here.

Visage however is a brilliant choice you made too.
