How can you belive in magic when all magic tricks by definition are just learned sleights of hand and optical illusion?

I never find watching magicians on TV as impressive because they're on TV and things can be manipulated. I have seen a few amazing street magicians up close though

One time when I was on a date, i went to the toilet and left the guy at the table. Upon my return, he had vanished into thin air and was replaced by a note saying "**** off, Ashley"

If that doesn't prove that magic is real then I don't know what does.
