The woman would need to have been held in contempt of court if her testimony was deemed to be full of falsehood. Clearly that was not the case here.
I do like the system where there are 3 possible outcomes; Innocent, Guilty and not proven, but unfortunately not proven has now been associated with got off with it, so from a who sues who perspective, the clear either or choice is the only system that currently works.

but even if that was the case, ACTUALLY raping someone is still a million times worse than lying about someone raping you.
I don't like how some people seem to be implying that being accused of rape is just as bad as actually BEING raped. because it;s not. it's not even in the same universe.
