it doesn't make much difference on a PC ... and with W10 you can have multiple desktops so plenty of room for expansion

On a Mac, adding too many items to the desktop can affect performance

53 and half a dozen on my toolbar. (nearly half covered and all stuff i access regularly) Thats what your desktop is for! not using it is just weird.

that's because if I'm sending on an invoice to someone I always send it to the desktop and then forget to delete it until my desktop gets full

i could not live if i did that, i cant even look at one email in my inbox when i finish the day

I have a mac and my desktop has to be clear otherwise my OCD kicks off.

I have 16 programs in my dock.
